Ob diese Dampflokomotive wohl ETCS-Ausrüstung hat? 🤔 #fat26 (ein bisschen zu spät, ich weiß)

Footprint so cursed, I got nerd-sniped into adding some new features to Horizon EDA q_q Case in point: L-Shaped pads. Custom padstacks for odd-shaped pads have been a core feature basically since day 0. However, for some reason I decided that you can only rotate and not mirror pads, requiring drawing two padstacks for such a package. It's now possible to mirror pads so I only needed to draw the L-shaped pad once 😎 #horizon_eda

Vendors will totally put 1½ pages of this table in their datasheet rather than just stating that the gateline is encoded as 9 bits, LSB first.

We can launch a crewed rocket to the moon, but can't make a mission timer that uses tabular figures 😭

Translunar Injection sounds much more ominous if you don't know it's about orbital maneuvers

Minor detail about an ordinary LCD thermometer: It displays temperature with 0.1°C resolution and min/max temperature to 1°C. The lazy way of implementing min/max therefore would be rounding the displayed temperature to 1°C resolution and using that to accumulate min/max. However, it rounds down for min and up for max, so it's guaranteed that the temperature was actually between the displayed min/max readings. If it's 10.2°C and you reset it, min reads 10°C and max 11°C.

https://docs.kernel.org/admin-guide/pm/cpufreq.html > As a rule, the higher the clock frequency and the higher the voltage, the more instructions can be retired by the CPU over a unit of time, […] 🧐 Well, that's one way of saying "if you increase the clock frequency, a CPU runs faster'. But who says it like that? Looks at author. Sees @intel.com email address. Well, that explains everything.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rtYW9n5gHY Apparently, the cheapest way of sending video down a wire still is good old composite video, even if it looks like that wire isn't shielded in any way. TBH, I wouldn't know what else to use. SDI hasn't really found its way into all niches previously occupied by composite video.

Procrastinated submitting a board my implementing voltage divider and resistor ratio calculation in Horizon EDA… Instead of punching resistor values into a calculator, just selecting two resistors on the schematic now shows the ratio for various combinations right into the head-up display. Clicking on the link pops up a small voltage divider calculator. #horizon_eda
