After work I went to get a haircut. No walk-ins today. Then I stopped at a different vet to get Science Diet k/d for the cats since the first vet was so horrible. Have to be a client. $85 initial visit before I can buy the expensive food. Utter waste of my time and gas. Cats will be eating whatever sort of food I can get at the store. Today sucked.

&quot;High end&quot; local steakhouse (osso bucco on the menu etc.) looking for line and prep cooks. They are offering $12-$16 per hour. And indeed says they&#39;ve hired seven people in the last thirty days. They did not just open or expand their operating hours. All of my spidey senses are on fire. 🚩🚩🚩

Went back to book club tonight. It&#39;s an odd little group. As one might expect. Picked up some good suggestions. And one of the women I&#39;ve seen there before invited me to a BBQ craft thing at her house Saturday. #operationFindAFriend

I don&#39;t want to keep cooking but that&#39;s what indeed keeps showing me because of my resume. One job did look vaguely interesting. $17 per hour plus employer paid health insurance. It was cooking for nuns at their convent. I left the site to look up the address. Returning to the site the job was no longer listed. It wasn&#39;t listed yesterday at ten pm. WTF?

I was able to get my mom an appointment to redo her will. Only possible to make appointment on line. Slots released at 10pm. Between yesterday and today I mowed and edged. Tomorrow I go back to the book club. #threeGoodThings

At the last restaurant job I worked there were a lot of J1s. A group from the Philippines, a group from India, a group from South Africa. I made daal and roti for Sampath from India. It made his day. Tasted like home. That made my day too. What did not make my day is that he was known to all as Sam. All of the J1s had and/or were given Anglo names. Because people raised on LOTR couldn&#39;t remember an &quot;exotic&quot; name.
