At the last restaurant job I worked there were a lot of J1s. A group from the Philippines, a group from India, a group from South Africa. I made daal and roti for Sampath from India. It made his day. Tasted like home. That made my day too. What did not make my day is that he was known to all as Sam. All of the J1s had and/or were given Anglo names. Because people raised on LOTR couldn't remember an "exotic" name.
