  there's some pretty retarded stuff with godot, like how the physics libraries only return dictionaries instead of structs when using C++ gdextensions. the whole idea of tacking on 500 nodes to a single object to add in functionality is stupid by default so don't do that. overall though if you ignore a lot of that stuff it's pretty nice at this point.

  Interesting discussion on why US shale physically can't act as a shock absorber for the incoming oil shortages. Basically we're running out of already drilled wells and it will take up to 2 years to have production from new ones.   had dinner with some extreme lefty relatives tonight; the kind who went to a No Kings thing yesterday. anyways, one of them out of nowhere brings up how he learned the history about how israel was forcibly formed after WW2 and was going off about the jews and the genocides they've done. it was refreshing having something easy to talk about for a while

  @Frondeur@poa.st @apropos@fsebugoutzone.org @Orkin_Awk@poa.st @Terry@poa.st the US needs massive amounts of oil being traded, even if inefficiently importing millions of barrels while exporting millions of barrels. it's because the US's primary export is its currency and its debt. the petrodollar and the US imperial efforts to force the world to trade in its currency is the only thing that keeps the financial ponzi scheme known as the US economy above water.
