@davatron5000 Better yet, not just the previous and next post chronologically, but specifically the ones in the current series. So, if you inject something unrelated in the middle of a series on, I dunno, contrast color, previous/next can keep you on track to the next article in the series.

I subscribed to a monthly yarn box, with the goal of doing more projects, inspired by what's in the box. This month the colors are a bright blue, a dark purple-blue, periwinkle, and pale gray. Here's my tablet woven band in progress. I was trying for drops of water splashing into a puddle, but what I really see is jewels set into a bracelet.

I love, love this essay. It's beautiful and kind and is making me think about "boundaries" in a different way. https://sarahmock.substack.com/p/for-the-love-of-the-barda

@davatron5000 More than anything else, this is why I love RSS. The posts just sit there until I'm ready to read them. For days, for weeks, for months... patiently waiting until I get to them, tucked away in a single web page

It's springtime in the desert and it's starting to bloom

Another weekend, another set of flowers in bloom at Saguaro National Park The fairy dusters are a hot mess, but they are absolute bee magnets. The rocket is an invasive weed, but it looks cool.

Also, exciting times, the palo verde trees are warming up for their big show!

For real, I just need to stop sharing anything on Reddit. I posted some of my photos of spring flowers. First two comments were pedants complaining that it isn't spring until March 20 🙄 and that I should really be worried that they were blooming this early. Like, obviously. I never said it wasn't. But also, it's still pretty and I can enjoy it. Pedants and gloom-mongers are the worst when I share things that make me happy. I'll take the zero-reply environment...

After about two years of being mildly curious about them, I finally sat down and played with view transitions for the first time. I'm not crazy about fancy animations, but I really do like the basic crossfade effect that you get from just putting them in the html element. Thanks @davatron5000 for your blog post on how to get started with them. I know it's not new territory any more, but it was a good first read on the subject.
