FYI: ⬆️ for a thread on a WA state bill regulating automated decision systems. Written comments, even if short, are very helpful - you don't have to be a WA resident. And, WA residents can "sign in" to state a position without comment! If you can't see the thread, it's at https://pnw.zone/@waprivacy/109855636017837419 Please help get the word out! @emilymbender @megyoung @meg @nwprogressive @bitz @timnitGebru @schock @randomwalker @evangreer @ali @gle...

    Here's a screenshot of Sen. Hasegawa holding up the Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights at the hearing. Alas despite the great hearing, the bill is almost certainly dead for the #waleg session . I updated the "what next?" section of https://privacy.thenexus.today/automated-decision-systems-regulation/#next-steps with a bit of info. @geomblog @emilymbender @megyoung @meg @nwprogressive @bitz @timnitGebru @schock @randomwalker @evangreer @ali @gleemie @hypervisible @j...

    @katestarbird Excellent article! Really appreciate the point about the strategy of shaping frames - which highlights a direction for an effective counter-strategy

    @Seirdy interesting. here's what it looks like on indieweb.social ... is there a problem with poll vote federation?

    @juliepagano evergreen domain name!

    @loshmi well, actually, #NotAllAmericans! In this thread I shall condescendingly correct your post. To start with ... (1/275)

    And thanks for doing that -- I completely agree! I've been working on a post with resources for choosing an instance, and it's really daunting. https://privacy.thenexus.today/resources-for-choosing-instances/ @queenofnewyork @WeirdWriter @real_jamescain

    @UlrikeHahn thanks for the tag! Interesting. I don’t think it violates Washington’s My Health My Data, which exempts public data - I’ll have go back and double-check the definitions (not that I’m going to contradict the person posting it)

    I don't see anything there that would be grounds for silencing. Just because somebody claims that something is antisemitic doesn't make it antisemitic. Jews in general agree that holocaust *denial* is antisemitic, but I don't see that in any of these posts. @mima

    @aram good call. Sorry to hear about the situation, but no point in additional stress!

    @MissingThePt oh come on, I know you sometimes stretch the truth a little in the aid of your humor, but this is just too ridiculously over the top to be believable ... (checks link) (double checks date to make sure it's not April 1) Well, OK then!

    @spocko wow, that looks great! here's another recipe from that site we like a lot (substituting tofe for the salmon) - it freezes well too so we double the recipe, and throw in broccoli as well as the kale https://minimalistbaker.com/easy-1-pan-salmon-red-curry/

    I'm in the process of migrating this account to @jdp23@neuromatch.social ... if you were following me here, you'll hopefully wind up following there -- if not, my apologies! To be honest I haven't been using this account much for the last 18 months ... so I decided to make it official. It'll be the first time I've actually migrated an accounts, so wish me luck!
