I read today that the Nothing Phone (1) is getting its last security patch soon. The phone was released on 21st July 2022. I would really rather we stop this short lifespan with technology. 4 years is such a short space of time, especially when often devices can last a lot longer than that. I have the Nothing Phone (2), and intend to continue using it, likely with a custom ROM, even after support ends. Imagine if we all collectively decided to at least double the support length of thee devices...

Can't wait for everyone's reaction when they realise the under 16 social media ban isn't for the children. It's for everyone to submit their IDs and be monitored. Sorry to break the news if you were hoping for something else.

I spent ~1 hour this morning trying to get my USB keyboard & mouse to work on my work Qubes computer. A recent update, which also updated the Linux kernel to 6.19.x meant that the sys-usb kernel panicked upon start-up. A "fun" hour which reminded me why I enjoy using Debian stable at home. In general Qubes is fantastic. I am a big fan when it works. It's when it doesn't..

I got referred to as "one of the elders" at work the other day. I still feel 17 on the inside.

Being a parent is a bit like having a Chromium browser for a brain. You've got 20 tabs open, 5 slow to load, 4 crashed, 9 each making different noises which you can't distinguish, and 1 which somehow managed to use 192 GB of memory even though you've only got 16.

Does anyone have experience with #lundhags hiking boots? I am possibly interested in buying some, but am unsure which are the most suitable for walking through Swedish forests. I walk all year round, come rain, snow or shine.

I have a very unpopular opinion (especially in Sweden). Popcorn should be sweet. Salty popcorn is absolutely vile.
