  #git #versioncontrol Git worktrees are a great concept once you get them, but the tooling and UX around them is not great Coding agents sometimes create multiple worktrees with same name, it’s hard to find where everything is on disk, when do I clean them up, etc And they have weird arbitrary constraints that make them hard to appreciate Like “one branch can be checked out only in one worktree at a time” Yeah I get it, but aren’t worktrees supposed to be independent. Wtf is this constraint

  #CloudKit #iCloud #APNS CloudKit and APNS is the bane of my existence I create a visible subscription for inserted CKRecords that should just work The records are fine and arrive with a fetch But simply no push in development environment is sent for them Are there any known issues for CloudKit push notifications in development environment, or any recent known good debugging and inspection methods for what is really going on? I wish I had delivery log on server side, but no such thing.

Make sure you generate lots of duplicate FBs because otherwise we will not take it seriously” Okay then

  @neil this is so great! Thank you for sharing. I try to limit my news exposure as well > I wonder if a monthly, edited, one-or-two page kind of approach, of key / important news stories, might be welcome. In my country’s public broadcast main channel, there is a weekly TV news program on Sunday nights that summarizes the week nationally and globally. I don’t watch TV news daily, but I found the weekly program to be useful and “enough exposure”

  Okay so @jensimmons keeps asking people about what is missing in Safari and Apple web platform I just came across a big one You cannot generate haptic feedback on web platform on Apple devices. Vibration API is not implemented I was kind of surprised to discover this. I assumed it would be there. But no Vibration API only seems to offer one style of vibration though, which is also limiting.   #Xcode #iOS So previously we learned that CloudKit push notifications are broken in iOS 26.4 (but allegedly fixed in 26.5 beta) Here is another broken thing. You can not paste into iOS 26.4 simulator. This does NOT appear to be fixed in 26.5 simulator, I tried.   I went to the cinema yesterday and had a choice of what movie to watch Our cinemas are mostly full of 🇺🇸 Hollywood But I browsed through the Hollywood production listings and found that none of them were speaking to me at all (And yes there definitely is some anti🇺🇸 bias in me these days that played into that, ngl) Went to see 🇪🇺🇮🇹 La Grazia instead.
