  journalists, I am BEGGING you to interview archivists from places other than the Internet Archive. The IA is cool, we all love it, but the perspective of IA is not representative, they are really an outlier in the #archives world. ++ The IA is just one institution doing #webarchiving among many. Go wrote and recorded it entirely on his own. You'll hear a range of percussion and bells, cornet, tenor sax, clarinet, flute, and more. He met the studio musicians in Nashville 10 days prior to the show and they put these beautiful arrangements together. Incredible! #music

  Anyone know what the musicians from les georges leningrad are up to these days?? I loved them in college and think about them not infrequently. I just read their wikipedia page and saw that they had a cool stage show, something i never knew about them! Just loved their #music from the lowcountry of SC before youtube etc 🌴

  It's national #library week in the USA ❤️ celebrate by taking action! call your legislators this week about a piece of legislation affecting libraries in your state or municipality. my state of MA had the 4th highest number of book ban attacks in 2022 and there's a bill in the House (already passed by Senate) to make it harder to ban books.   I care about AI's effect on the environment, but i'm worried we've already created lasting destruction with putting the entire economy into AI the last few years. Every day i think about all the money that has been siphoned off from the macro level investments to the micro level - all institutions pivoting their projects and focus from whatever useful thing they were doing before to AI. Some of the $$ + labor would have been spent on infrastructure or social goods. But...
