With the state of emulation and emulation hardware where it is, it is such a good time to be a Pokemon fan. Like if you don't have a 3ds already, you can get the Ayn Thor for <$300 and play everything up to the 3ds era. Add in a crazy active Rom hack community, and you can really go back through this series really easily.

I think more white trans people should focus on reading things written by and talking to people of color. Because we understand oppression in a different way, in a way that has the benefit of generational knowledge. No one prepared me to be trans, there was no way for my family to know how my life would turn out and even if they did they had no experience. I was prepared to be Mexican. Adults in my life prepared me for a world that would treat me different due to the color of my skin.

I've probably mentioned before that DC is the most trans city in the US. 1 in 33 residents identify as trans. And the reason for that is that DC has a lot of protections for trans people, and has for a few decades. This makes it an easy choice for trans people across the country to move here and live their authentic lives. For pride this year, I want to talk about how some of this came to be. Step one of my transition was realizing I was a girl. Step 2 has been, trying to figure out what that means to me. As I really step into my own on the masc lesbian side of the spectrum, I am starting to recognize that my view and personal type of womanhood does not fall within the most basic ideas of femininity. Recently I told a friend that I wore eyeliner to work for 2 days in a row so I was "done with being a girl for a bit".
