For me, the stand out part was section 6, which finally filled in the holes in my understanding of how these systems "steal labor", a phrase which I had often come across but could only loosely understand the concrete meaning of. Okay! Starting the next one! I&#39;m very excited to read this! It&#39;s always mentioned everywhere and was the top rec when I asked for urbanism books. And hooeee is it stout! 585 pages!! I&#39;m simultaneously thrilled that it&#39;s serious, but also intimidated. Wish me luck!

So in the neverending chain of &quot;google screws up everything good by continuing to poke it&quot;, the &quot;Now Playing&quot; feature on pixel phones got a big update, and now it just... doesn&#39;t recognize songs unless I explicitly ask it? That was the whole point, that&#39;s what was great about it. Siiiigh...

One &quot;beneficial residue&quot; that I&#39;m hoping outlasts the AI crash, is that more and more tools and systems are adding CLI support, even to webapps! The task scheduling software we&#39;re using at work just added a CLI command, and as an obsessive scripter, this is so amazing!

Unicycle day 7: after about 45 minutes of falling, I finally clicked on a piece of advice I got early on: to always mount falling forward, like you&#39;re already rolling. It turns out stopping and catching your balance from this is easy, but getting going from still is hard!

This whole Carney/airport thing is a perfect example of how privatization is doomed to fail for single-supplier business: Capitalism&#39;s basic constructive force is competition. But a city won&#39;t just pop up new competitive airports. Therefore, capitalism can not solve this. It requires government!

Okay friends: I need some book recommendations! I&#39;m diving into the whole #urbanism thing, but coming at it as a game designer. I&#39;m looking for awesome books to read, but especially ones that look at the models and systems of cities and how they function in the modern era. Though, I&#39;m also trying to be a better citizen so advocacy and political and historical book recs won&#39;t go unappreciated 😁
