Am I in The Stack V3, https://huggingface.co/spaces/HuggingFaceCode/in-the-stack. > The Stack v3 is a 15.9 TB dataset of source code across 713 programming languages from 173M repositories, crawled from GitHub in 2025 ALL my projects have been used to train this model. All of them. Including orgs I contribute to. … What if an LLM generates code from my PhD thesis, or any algorithms I wrote? Good luck with the copyrights. #llm #ai

AI’s finally expensive enough to make Wall Street nervous, https://www.theverge.com/ai-artificial-intelligence/972119/ai-stock-fall-google-capex. > It’s earnings season, and investors got an unpleasant surprise from Google: an increase on its spending estimate, to as much as $205 billion > You don’t have to be a finance genius to figure out that spending more than you make isn’t an ideal business practice. What’s more, increased spending in an environment where you have to either...

/me dreaming *Meta had too many debts, died in bankruptcy. Oracle had too many debts and couldn’t keep going, closing its business. OpenAI then died, pulling Microsoft in the fall. Google took the same path but has resisted a bit. What a relief for the society to live without all these companies. Less ads, less toxic social interactions, less wasted energy at every layers of the society. New small or medium companies being able to grow…* Ahh. The impacts would be so great. #ai #debt

Debian to ban LLM, https://www.debian.org/vote/2026/vote_002. Undeniable arguments, with sources! #debian #llm > It is our belief that widespread LLM usage comes from the "move fast, and break things" attitude that, while common in many parts of this industry, is contrary to what makes Debian Debian, and is inappropriate for Debian contributors. I’m looking for a research paper I saw recently but can’t find it anymore. It’s about LLM/AI and addiction. How the (false) illusion of intelligence + sometimes, randomly, a good answer, makes forget all the previous wrong answers, and how these little shot of dopamine creates an addiction. Thanks for your help 🙏. #llm #ai #addiction

Enabling ai co author by default, https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/pull/310226. VSCode now adds Copilot as a co-author to every git commit one makes with VSCode. Or, How to artificially increase the apparent usage of Copilot to Microsoft stakeholders. This is ridiculous. How do they believe it’s gonna be received? Edit: it’s been reverted https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/pull/313931, thanks @alextecplayz for the link! #microsoft #vscode #copilot #git

dav2d, https://code.videolan.org/videolan/dav2d. dav2d is an AV2 cross-platform decoder, open-source, and focused on speed and correctness. It is based on the popular dav1d decoder. The goal of this project is to provide a decoder for most platforms, and achieve the highest speed possible to overcome the temporary lack of AV2 hardware decoder. 📣 New blog post Switching higher-order streams to first-order streams, https://mnt.io/articles/switching-higher-order-streams-to-first-order-streams/. I discuss streams. It's a pretext to learn about higher-order streams, like `flatten` and to introduce a new stream: `switch`! It's very useful, and will have no secret for you. #RustLang #async #stream #future

📣 New blog post About memory pressure, lock contention, and Data-oriented Design, https://mnt.io/articles/about-memory-pressure-lock-contention-and-data-oriented-design/. I illustrate how Data-oriented Design helped to remove annoying memory pressure and lock contention in multiple sorters used in the Matrix Rust SDK. It has improved the execution by 98.7% (53ms to 676µs) and the throughput by 7718.5% (from 18Kelem/s to 1.4Melem/s)! #performance #RustLang #memory #lock #DataOrientedDesign
