Two personal achievements unlocked: 1) Disconnected our last natural gas appliance and now have a fully* electric house. *Wood-fired pizza oven used 4-5 times a year; charcoal kamado grill 2-3 times. 2) Installed an induction cooktop and two wall ovens (small steam convection &amp; larger standard convection) instead of an integrated range. Treated ourselves to high-end Wolf brand appliances as this is the last kitchen reno/update we expect to do, so may as well enjoy it.

#Introduction Originally from New Zealand, I’ve lived in Canada for the last 30+ years (approx. half my life). Dual citizenship. Love my downtown Hamilton neighbourhood for its diversity, small businesses, and left-leaning politics. Car-less since May 2022, I get around by walking, cycling, transit, or occasional car-share for longer/larger errands. Long career in Information Technology, now retired. My main interests are cooking (omnivorous, but increasingly vegetarian) and coffee roasting.
