At the bus stop with @datasaurus on the way to the airport. As they say*: we're going on an adventure! * Which should strike fear into anyone who has read Children of Ruin.

Who wore it better at Park GΓΌell? @jonobie in 2014 or @datasaurus in 2026? The answer is that the throne looks great on both queens π

Big travel coming up so I've made sure my emergency documents are up-to-date and my emergency contacts have access to them. And now that I'm over-prepared everything will be Just Fine with the trip.

Old laptop battery has been taken to the household hazardous waste drop off. Ballots dropped off in the neighborhood ballot box (at the library, of course). Last load of laundry has been done. Aquarium filter has been cleaned (yesterday) and water change completed (today). I'm getting ever closer to being ready for the trip.

Last workout before Spain. And a great one to end it on as everything felt good and I got a really solid lift in. Now you all get a break from #gairdyFlex posts for a while.

Time to remind all #Seattle and #KingCounty book lovers that the two library systems have a reciprocity agreement and you can check out books from *both* libraries if you live in either service area! In addition, both SPL and KCLS have reciprocity agreements with other regional libraries, including Sno-Isle, Tacoma, and many more. https://www.spl.org/using-the-library/get-started/get-started-in-english/en-get-started-with-a-library-card/en-library-card-application/reciprocal-agreements https:...

Gay fedi, help a queer out. What are some of your favorite gay male artists that are singing songs with *lyrics about men*? This is my incredibly short list and I need more: Jordan Firstman Cazwell Steve Grand Superfruit Todrick Hall Orvill Peck Sam Smith Open to to any music genre in this phase of discovery!

For inside air quality on the cheap + quiet, @datasaurus@mastodon.social and I highly recommend the units from https://www.cleanairkits.com/ We have several of their 5-fan luggables and they are always running and dead quiet. They use off-the-shelf filters you can buy at any US hardware store -- you just replace them once or twice a year. The DIY kits are very easy to assemble. I know this is too little too late for some of y'all dealing with #wildfire #smoke but hopefully it will help som...

Hey Fedi, in the spirit of "be the algorithm you want to see in the world", I've started a new project to show you hot men on the Fediverse: @HotMenOfMasto@mastodon.social This new account is consensually boosting -- not posting -- SFW selfies of masc-presenting, real users here on the Fedi. It's a curated account by me, not a bot, and I have a delightfully broad definition of what I find hot as a gay man. Slowly adding new pics as I get consent. (Some of my mutuals need to c...

If you're a gay man on IG, it's good at showing you hot men -- for some definition of hot. On the fedi that's much harder and I would argue is one of the real but stupid reasons it's harder to get the gays off IG. Following tags is not practical because many tags have been taken over by the NFSW "content curators" who are posting other people's content -- which is why I don't use any in my selfies. But there's a way to do curation: dedicated boost accounts...

I realize this is tech privilege, but OpenVPN + basic VM in Hetzner = cheap VPN under your control, right? It's been a hot minute since I set up OpenVPN but IIRC it was easy. Guess I'll test this theory out on Monday.

Core workout today was really solid. Bonus: no one nonconsensually filmed me and told me about it. No pic because it's just a furry torso with some obliques. I love eating and carbs way too much to have visible abs.

Happy Pride and welcome to Queer Books for Pride 2026! π³οΈβππ Every day in June I'll be posting a queer book that I loved. Most of these are SFF as that's my jam. All of them feature queer characters or have queers as a natural part of the world. This year I'll be posting under #gairdyQBFP and #queerBooksForPride for you to follow or filter. Feel free to post your own queer reading suggestions under the second tag too. Boosts are always welcome. I hope you find something that you enjo...

> What's your favorite dessert flavor? Oh, um, is "sweet" a flavor? I enjoy most all of the typical dessert flavors -- chocolate, cinnamon, coconut, nutella, etc -- and not sure I have a favorite. #gairdyAMA

>Let's say you suddenly come into ownership of a teleportation device. You can be anywhere at any time. > Where do you spend _most_ of your time? Someplace sunny with blue skies as I manage another overcast day here in Seattle. Probably at various points on the Mediterranean. The food, and the men, are sublime in Greece and Italy and Spain, for instance. #gairdyAMA

With apologies to the one person who said no on the poll, here's Twink Casey from June 2011 vs Now Casey. Amazing what 15 years will do. Goddess I miss that luscious head of hair, but I wouldn't trade who I am today for it. It's funny how much I hated my body back then -- brains are so stupid.

RE: https://pug.ninja/@motoridersd/116608419811263150 I've also been using Kagi for my search engine for over a year and have found it has been absolutely worth paying for. I get relevant search results without ads or AI bullshit. Even better, I'm able to customize what sites I want results prioritized from (ie: Wikipedia, the small web) and what sites to never show me (Meta-owned properties, pinterest, etc). The old adage applies here: if you aren't paying for somethi...

The number of times I've said "Jesus Christ Made Seattle Under Protest*" to myself while bussing through downtown is incalculable. * This is a mnemonic device to remember the order of the streets in downtown Seattle, south to north, which start with these letters.
