Gone flyin'. Off to the island, to the beach! To sip a non-alcoholic afterwork beverage. #aviation #Cessna172 #edwg #Wangerooge

Abelbeck Aviation Checklist: migrated the Auth module from dict+JSON to an SQLite database. The Auth module offers user management, access control and session management. Password hashes are derived with scrypt. Non-GET requests are secured with anti-CSRF tokens (header/cookie transfer). Plus it offers a sync mechanism via server-sent event connections.

Ad hoc evening flight. Another 57 min for the book -- and some boost in morale! 🙂 #generalaviation #c172

Another rather spontaneous after-work flight Rating-relevant time: block 8:21, PIC 5:26. Crawling back to normal after an unusual long winter break. 💪 Due to decreasing visibility I only made it to the coast and Wangerooge. Since Spiekeroog was barely visible, I turned around. Spiraling upwards I could peek above the clouds at 5000 ft. #generalaviation #AquilaA211 #at01 #Wangerooge

Einfach mal laufen. Nein, nicht in Friesland. Lehrgangsbedingt woanders. #laufen

Just one traffic circuit, due to parts of it getting cloudy. 🙄 Thought cloud base was 1400 ft, but it dropped to 700 ft of a sudden. No sense risking the aircraft. #generalaviation #AquilaA211

Friesland offered good weather conditions today. The other side of the Jade bight was covered in clouds. My reservation time frame offered me a trip along Wangerooge, Spiekeroog, Langeoog and back. 🙂 #generalaviation #AquilaA211 #friesland #wilhelmshaven

New features added to the Abelbeck Aviation Checklist application: + pilot logbook: flight log, licences, ratings, documents + checklist event logging + geolocation logging, automatically triggered when entering the engine startup section, automatically suspended when completing the engine shutdown section + user-triggered flight recording with automatic logbook entry generation based on the checklist event log Next on: visualisation of recorded flights, most likely based on MapLibre GL JS.

Fascinating, my 14yo ebook reader is still functioning perfectly! Even after years of hibernation among paper books. 🙂 #ebookreader

Success! I converted the checklist timekeeping (block off, block on, departure, arrival) from minutes after midnight to minutes since the Epoch. It was one AM, I should've called it a night. But VLC was still playing some Ärzte songs, and I remembered this one lyrics hardcopy somewhere in the bookshelf... In the end, I played my old six-string till two. Ok, now better off to sleep!

Abelbeck Aviation Checklist got another feature: it now supports multiple synchronised sessions. Based on server-sent events, changes in one session are committed to all other sessions of a user. In the future I can do the checklists on my smartphone fixed to my thigh, while the tablet nearby shows my flight planning. And both reflect the current state. Now I can again tend to the flight recorder part of my app. #aviationgeek #javascript #python #asyncio #serversentevents
