I was talking on the phone and pacing around earlier and I happen to look over and see this fricken weirdo sitting on the steps like a total weirdo watching me walk in circles. She's so bizarre sometimes. #Dogs #Berners #BerneseMountainDog #Photo

Finner, why do you care so much about the software/platforms/online spaces you use and who it's made by and how they're developed? *gestures to the internet* Because the majority of people NOT caring about these things for the past two decades has resulted in all of this shit.

If I keep running into issues trying to get #Artix to install, I might just have to go with #FreeBSD instead.

My wife has certainly moved a bit more towards being techy and geeky since we first met. But not so much that I could meaningfully explain to her why I don't want to use systemd, the pump I got from recovering my #Arch install the other night after deleting the wrong partition and having to revert a failed migration attempt to #Artix where I had already blown away #Systemd, or why I'm attempting to use #FreeBSD as my daily driver on my laptop now.

Getting the base install of #FreeBSD going was pretty easy. Getting #Wayland and #SwayWM up and running has been a little more challenging. Inching closer. Official documentation seems a bit lacking for Wayland and Sway. Finding some blog posts that have helped me get further along.

This is actual fucking reality. One of the largest business software development companies putting a button on the title bar of teams, for paying business customers to, I assume, pay more money to "Unlock Premium" in the Teams business communication and collaboration suite. I don't even know what to say.

This #Arch install I just can't kill. So after like two attempted struggles of installing #Artix, I realized that I had actually downloaded the ISO I was using some months ago. I was having issues getting connected to the mirrors. So I downloaded the recent stable ISO. That seemed to correct that issue... but then it was I think a pacman keyring issue I had. So I downloaded the latest weekly ISO, and boom. Finally success. Except I hosed up my boot partition. A chroot, fix fix. All goo...

All these posts I've seen recently talking about data storage degradation and how every time we copy something we lose fidelity got me thinking. ```js function entropy_speed_run() { // destroy it all to begin again for (let i = 0, i < ¹⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰100000, i++) { select_all_copy_paste(); } } ```

I also just don't understand how so many people seem to only, or primarily, see the would through the lens of "business" and business growth. Valuation this, percentages that. Profit profit profit. At the expense of everything else. I just don't get it. Don't think I ever did. Probably never will.

I'm getting too old for this shit. But I've been conditioned my whole life to be a good little worker bee and take any and all responsibility. It's such a struggle to set appropriate boundaries. Spent ten days at an outage working 12-15 hours a day. Started getting ill halfway through. Now I'm home trying to recover. Had to go to urgent care yesterday afternoon to get some antibiotics. So much for an enjoyable relaxing weekend recovery. High stress and little re...

Regarding the white house name in Google maps being changed to Epstein island (amazing tho Haha) but it got me thinking. It's such a fucking shame that this huge tech companies benefit so much from community input and support while they actively work to strip our freedom away from us. Could you imagine if everyone stopped updating information on Google maps and instead updated open street maps instead?
