RE: https://infosec.exchange/@drwhax/116972220646850101 It probably makes me appear psychotic, but I’m actually rooting for the collapse of this foolishness. I’ve no idea what the aftermath will look like, but I’ll welcome it. #AIIsGoingGreat

RE: https://mas.to/@markwyner/116936811244154360 Reuters is most well known for running the Reuters news agency, but the company is also a massive data broker and sells access to that data to companies and governments. Its data product, called CLEAR, promises to “Accelerate investigations confidently through a vast collection of public and proprietary records” #FuckReuters

I was today-years-old when I learned about George W. Plunkitt, the Tammany Society, and the concept of Honest Graft. Which isn't honest. But it's how politicians and their friends make a fortune fucking the rest of us on civil projects. News to you as well? Happy Fourth of July to all who celebrate with a freedumber parachuting with a giant flag that gets caught in a tree during the landing that leads to a face plant on a tent while Lee Greenwood’s iconic song plays on a loop, probably. H/t to @Jazone@theforkiverse.com & @cabel@social.panic.com for the find. #usa #July4

#IVoted #today! I used AZ’s new ID Verified system so that my early ballot will be ran thru the tabulator by tomorrow. (In AZ, elected idiots decided that mail-in ballots can’t be tabulated until the polls close on Election Day. This bypasses that nonsense.) It was super simple. If you got a ballot mailed to you in #MaricopaCounty, you can do this too! #vote #Primary #Phoenix #Az #Arizona

Arizonans are among the worst when it comes voting in primary elections, so I made a voting guide for the #PrimaryElection coming up on July 21st to help fix that! https://evoterra.me/az-2026-primary-voting-guide Read the whole thing at that link ☝️. Here's the summary: #vote #arizona #MaricopaCounty #Phoenix 1/x

UK politics are a bit confusing to my tiny USian brain, so I may be wrong about this, but it looks like the electorate decided more fascists in Parliament was wanted for the second time. That smells familiar. I wonder if, like here, the voter turnout was abysmal, due in part to the actions (and inactions) of a feckless party in power absolutely terrified of anything resembling progress? #UKPol #FuckFascists #vote

Fortunately, anyone working for The Daily Wire is by definition not a good person, so fuck ‘em. More MAGA Loyalists experiencing hardships makes me smile. May they be unemployable for the rest of their miserable lives.

Welcome to Tuesday, #Arizona. There are 91 days until the #PrimaryElection. In 2024, 69% of you couldn't be bothered to show up and cast a #vote. The next Primary Elections happen on May 5th in #Indiana, where 83% of Hoosiers couldn't be bothered to show up and cast a vote, and #Ohio, where 78% of Ohioans decided to let others decide who they'd have a chance to vote for in the #GeneralElection. We can do better. Spread the word. #vote 🇺🇸

Hey, #Arizona unaffiliated (e.g., independent, no party affiliation) registered voters. Did you know you CAN vote in the Primary Election on July 21st? Yep! You can request a ballot from either party. Do it for the Dems, and vote for the most progressives you can. This is how we make the Dems better. https://www.azcleanelections.gov/no-party #vote #phoenix #tucson #flagstaff #az

Just a reminder that the number of elective abortions performed in the U.S. after 21 weeks is zero. Not “effectively” zero, but zero. Zilch. Nada. 0. No medical provider in the U.S. will perform a voluntary #abortion on demand that late in a pregnancy. It. Does. Not. Happen. Period. I wish politicians would state that plainly at every opportunity.

This is the best article I've read about podcast monetization in a very long time, and I HATE talking about podcast monetization! https://podnews.net/article/intimacy-over-scale Programmatic ads really only bring in meaningful revenue when they get 100s of 1000s of impressions a month, which forces podcasters to cram 9 or more ads into each episode. But direct sponsorship is quite different. Better for listeners, the creator, and the sponsor. #podcasting #monetization #ads #sponsorship

What happens when progressives show up to #vote in local elections? “the Clean Energy Team flipped two seats… shifting control of the body to clean-energy-friendly board members.” “in 13 head-to-head races… Clean Energy Team candidates won 11 of the matchups.” “The losses for Turning Point, despite the massive investment of money and effort, could be a troubling bellwether for both Republicans and Turning Point itself… in November.” #Phoenix #AZ https://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/arizona-...

@sal@brain.worm.pink Eh, bullshit. If progressive voters showed up at the primaries, we’d have a functioning progressive party. Period. Full stop.
