Dog let me sleep in until 8 am this morning. Coffee is delicious. Going to be another hot hot day out there. Not a lot of plans #today. Thrift shopping, watch the soccer in the afternoon, maybe an evening bike ride if I&#39;m not too lazy.

Little slow to get going this morning after partying last night with the local U.S. soccer fans. What a crowd, what a game! #fifaworldcup Might need to put on a second pot of #coffee to make it through the workday. The good news is I have tomorrow off so #today is like a Friday for me.

My #SummerGameChallenge is going well but also not. I&#39;m an extremely slow gamer. Been playing Pokemon Red almost every day but only 30 minutes to an hour at a time. If this it the only game I finish by Labor Day I&#39;ll still be pleased.

#Today is the first Mother&#39;s Day since my mom died three months ago. Not being a mother myself (unless dogs count) I don&#39;t have anything to celebrate except other women who still make the sacrifices it takes to raise children. Thank you.

Goodwill is the last place here locally that I know of that still sells CDs. I got these for 99 Cents each. The Schubert one is my favorite at the moment. #music #CDs

Yay I found my old Sansa Clip Sport and it still works perfectly. Time to load it up with MP3s again. There&#39;s something to be said about having a separate device for #music than your cell phone.

I checked out some classical CDs and a book about Schubert from the library, and the nice lady asked me if I teach music. That&#39;s funny, I have no musical talent or knowledge whatsoever. No, I said I just like to listen, and I recently saw a thing on PBS and wanted to learn more.

To celebrate a personal victory, I ordered myself one of those R36S retro game thingies all the cool kids have. (I was not allowed to have a Game Boy as a child.)

So the R36S I bought turned out to be a clone with half the RAM and no custom firmware support. I thought I could make it work, but performance was so poor it could not keep up with Yoshi&#39;s Island. Also the vertical format is not for me and made my fingers cramped. Controller support was not working either. I returned it for a full refund and ordered a TrimUI Smart Pro instead. World of difference! It was twice the price, but so worth it. I&#39;m having a blast playing old games on my new handheld console, like &quot;Saiyuki - Journey West&quot; from the original PlayStation. Sun Wukong has been one of my favorite characters since I watched &quot;Havoc in Heaven&quot; as a child.
