  woke up this morning and realized that today is our community garden’s annual meeting. spent two hours turning over the compost pile. voted on some motions. ate lunch at the Rusty Ladle, picked up MoDo mochi donuts on the way home. now drinking hot chocolate in sweatpants and reading Claire Keegan. my funemployed brain is delightfully empty of work stress and my body is tired. a perfect Saturday.

  Last night we called 911 because 7 adults living in this building confirmed smelling gas. and it turned out that the remaining 2 adults were harboring the remnants of a ripe durian in their trash.   I’m seeing people start to take interest in ICE subpoenas. They are understandably new to many of you. But I used to respond to subpoenas in my old job, and would occasionally receive an ICE subpoena. The first time I got one, I remember thinking “huh.
