Can we #SoloRPG people just take a moment to thank @TanaPigeonWMG for basically creating (or at least formalizing in published writing) the concept of playing any #TTRPG alone? When she released the #MythicGME many, many years ago she spawned this onderful hobby for so many of us. Our hobby would be nothing like what it is today without her hard work. So thank you Tana for all the joy and emotional moments you've helped us create! For readers who aren't familiar: https://www.dr...

One thing that I've noticed about my #SoloRPG #OSE sessions is they tend to end up unintentionally short. I play digitally, and I suspect what happens is I get distracted by something else on the computer. So I'm thinking that maybe I should try playing with pen and paper only, just to try it? But playing digitally is really convenient though, you end up with a digital, searchable record of everything... I need to think about this.

I've published an article about my D12 Dungeon Crawling System. It makes dungeon crawling a bit more interesting by keeping track of a Tension value which dynamically affects how dangerous the dungeon is, providing real mechanical consequences when the party makes excessive noise or otherwise attracts attention, and so on. It works for both group and #SoloRPG play. https://www.ttrpg-hangout.com/d12_dungeon_crawl_system.html #TTRPG #DnD #PathFinder

@zuho_lywak Can I ask why you signed up for this instance?

People very rarely sign up for my tiny, specialized #Mastodon instance, but in the last few days I've had a string of seven accounts signing up. They all have normal-looking profile pictures and normal-sounding names, but I haven't seen much activity from them and they haven't responded to my greetings. This makes me suspect they're bots of some kind, but I could be wrong. #Fediverse

I just bought #Shadowdark, and reading through the PDF now. And its monster listing makes the same mistake that all other #TTRPG monster manuals seem to make - they list the monsters alphabetically. This makes no sense. When I browse monsters, I want to browse them by level - so that I can find monsters around the same level as the PCs. If I want to look them up by name, I'll use the index. Therefore, monsters should be sorted by level, not alphabetically. #FightMe

I decided to write an article about my #SoloRPG mode for #Emacs. If you're an Emacs user and want to try it out, it's on #MELPA so you can just: M-x package-refresh-contents RET M-x package-install RET solo-rpg RET https://www.ttrpg-hangout.com/solo_rpg_mode_for_emacs.html
