I don't get it. I installed a new SSD. Installed Linux from scratch on the new SSD. Copied some files from the old, dying SSD to the new one but just documents and pictures and stuff. Basically started over. The EXACT SAME btrfs errors I was getting before are happening again. It's not even the same brand of SSD. It's not even the same factory that made the silicon on my new SSD! Is my computer haunted? Seriously, what the actual hell is going on here?! Drive randomly flips to read...

All the senior leadership are freaking out about Mythos because Anthropic said, "it can hack the planet, trust me bro." We're getting called into meetings about threat response and we don't know a single thing about the threat we're supposed to respond to. Got an email from our director today saying IT wants to audit all of the software installed on every computer for vulnerabilities that haven't yet been published as CVEs. And like... Never let it be said that I have a good memory. My right hand was hurting a bit today. I broke one of the bones in my hand 15 years ago and the pain was in about the same place. I was getting a little worried that I'd aggravated the old injury or something. Four hours later, I remembered that the bone I broke was in my left hand. Anyway I think I just strained the tendon a bit.

One of my coworkers had jury duty a few weeks ago and I mentioned offhand that despite being well into my thirties, I've never had to do it. Anyway, I got a summons today for jury duty in August. Next time I'll keep my mouth shut.

Pretty sure my motherboard is failing. I've posted about fans and GPU issues and SSD issues and other stuff over the past several months but I think I've finally narrowed it down to a faulty motherboard, because otherwise literally everything else in my PC would be falling apart and it just doesn't make sense. I am going to throw my computer into the fires of Mount Doom and sail off to the Undying Lands. I am so done with this crap.

Found another old hard drive I'd forgotten about today. This keeps happening. The sheer number of old drives and USB sticks I've found stashed throughout my home is becoming absurd. To the point where I could swear I've found every stray byte of storage I have, only to pull an old box of keepsakes out of the closet and find yet another hard drive stuffed behind it, storing some old junk from college that wasn't worth keeping anyway.
