  July in #boardgames was quite diverse: some party games, some more complex games, some 2 player games, and some new games that I definitely have to spend more time with. Overall a fun month (with one exception).

  #PaupersLadder was a wonderful surprise. Talisman vibes, but not early as long and grindy! You move around with your pauper and your (trainable) bird, go on adventures, help people, fight monsters, build things with stuff you find, and it's low stakes and great fun. The artwork is wonderfully quirky too. 😍

  #ForgottenWaters is fantastic! Fun gameplay without too many rules and complications, beautiful artwork, and such funny humour! And the website offers audio files for the story parts, which is amazing. We had a blast playing the first scenario today! #boardgames

  Last night we played #Abomination, a worker placement game with a really fun theme. That is about all that was good. The bad: - it took almost 4 hours - the characters you draw at the beginning are unbalanced (I drew one that basically locked me out of a sure way to earn points) - progress feels very slow - the hidden cards' effects vary a lot in strength - achieving the main goal depends 100% on dice - there are "take that" cards that can set you back significantly Yeah, I hated...

  I've been close to selling my copy of #Viticulture for a while, but the new Bordeaux expansion might be exactly what I need to enjoy this game.   #Boardgames in the Tabakalera, Donostia! 😍 The best part is that you don't even need a library card to play the games on the premises, so we borrowed Magic Maze and had a great time while it was raining outside.
