I&#39;m not the only one in this house who loves the softness of merino wool. And yet, if I made a cat blanket from the finest, softest merino wool I could find, Selena the cat would still prefer my cardigan.

I recently discovered that there is a statue of Kshitigarbha Bodhisattva in a public place in my little town. And it was installed only last autumn! Schwäbisch Gmünd is a thoroughly Catholic place, but there is a sizeable population from South and East Asian countries here. I, for one, like this public presence of a non-Christian religious symbol. Christianity gets to take up so much space in public life here. Why shouldn&#39;t Buddhism get a few square meters?
