Because of my last boost (of https://palantirwatch.org/) reminder that Finnish authorities have been and still use Palantir. With a different name to deceive us from the fact. (Finnish National Broadcasting Company article in Finnish: https://yle.fi/a/74-20221793). I used to have trust in Finnish authorities. Now I have almost none.

I really like the "mute" functionality of Mastodon to curate my hashtag feed. Following hashtags, especially very general ones, usually fills my feed entirely with super active posters that are totally okay (I don't want to dictate what other's post on a hashtag) but often those posters post content I'm not interested in. Blocking is too harsh in most cases in this situation so I am really grateful for the mute button. #mastodon

hjelp, how do I create a blockquote in a mastodon post via the default mastodon web UI? > I've tried greater-than sign ``` backticks ``` "quotation marks" „Searching the web“ « Summoning a forest demon for assistance » I'm all out of ideas. Blockquote search brings me to markdown guides that don't seem to work in mastos web UI and quote-word search is showing things about mastodon's post quote. #mastodon #post #quote

Sat next to someone in a train who was talking to his partner on his phone. He had one of those "smart glasses" and that's how I found out these have speakers built into them. I heard their entire conversation. I wasn't even trying to listen but these glasses can't really output sound in a way that only you, the wearer, would hear it. I find the tech bit awkward. I don't really understand the trend behind these glasses. #glasses #meta #rayban

You know that website you have which you are not sure if anyone is checking out and reading? You've got a gold nugget and I'm just passing by, admiring it, and checking out what you've made with appreciation that you put time into this and shared it with the world. I am sick of web search and the useless LLM generated content/websites that could have been 50 paragraphs shorter and are just so optimized for the web crawlers it appears at the top of every search result. S...

Oh nice, Forgejo has repository migration tool that covers most git forges! Time to migrate my projects from GitLab, which I escaped to few years back from GitHub. #forgejo #git #development #software

I'm having a bit of a "LLM burnout". Started using internal one at work only recently. Had been avoiding the use of LLMs for coding for many reasons, but then I started feeling like I'm being left behind in my field. I read level-headed takes and instructions of how to use "Coding Agents" and refused anything but open-source/-weight models. Had success because I can do the same myself, but it's too much. Too much code to read, check,...
