  So. I just spent two and a half days in a colloquium with about three dozen postdocs. Technically, we were competing for who gets assigned the term of best computer science dissertation, except that it absolutely did not feel like a competition – more like a friendly gathering of individuals with similar backgrounds (albeit very different thesis topics). That was a pretty wholesome experience.
