Until the day I die in the #climate wars, I will not understand how we all saw a different way of life during the lockdown, the skies cleared up (not saying it was all good—a lot of people died), but then we collectively just decided to go back to “normal”….office hell, away from family, jetsetting, and now apparently #AI datacenters… ugh. I think about this every day.

Critiques of “academic elitism “ from the US left (if we can even call that a thing), aside from being oblivious to the lived experience of the vast majority of faculty/staff, align so perfectly with the right wing apologetics being employed rn to ratchet public universities toward their extractive capitalist final form that I have a hard time taking them seriously, no matter how #punk their aesthetic might be…

My one small contribution to #SolarpunkSunday I got for my birthday yesterday. Nice birdfeeding setup going back by the wildflowers… (will move that brush pile out of the way soon—keeping it to feed bugs, just moving).
