  We need a Museum of Disasters. Every exhibit shows a different type of catastrophe -- what happened, how we responded, what we learned. The final exhibit is always updating: the biggest risks we face right now. We make terrible decisions about risk when the last disaster fades from memory. Make it unforgettable.

  I'm super skeptical about the #atprotocol for a few reasons. The biggest is the network architecture putting giant "relay" servers in the center. The sell is that servers can be super light and just have to talk to a relay server. But this effectively centralizes everything onto the relays. There is only one so far, BlueSky, and the infrastructure need is massive. I don't see anyone else making one any time soon so BlueSky still has defacto control over the ent...

  A client asked me to build them a marketing site, which I did with #11ty. Super accessible, minimalist, max lighthouse scores, utterly responsive etc. Matched the design to the pixel. Loaded instantly even with a 3G connection. I delivered it within a week and a half, and they immediately ghosted me. Three months later they had rebuilt it in flutter web. It's not accessible at all, tons of usability issues, not responsive, over 5 MB to load before first paint. I just... Okay.
