A client asked me to build them a marketing site, which I did with #11ty. Super accessible, minimalist, max lighthouse scores, utterly responsive etc. Matched the design to the pixel. Loaded instantly even with a 3G connection.
I delivered it within a week and a half, and they immediately ghosted me. Three months later they had rebuilt it in flutter web.
It's not accessible at all, tons of usability issues, not responsive, over 5 MB to load before first paint.
I just... Okay.

So hard not to take it personally. But it's business. People have a lot going on and I can't blame them for it. Maybe I missed some major constraints, or they weren't given to me. Either way, I'm glad I asked for a pre-payment and spent time on a tight contract. I suppose that's the real lesson.
