Back on my #TileRummy investigation: does this style of lettering evoke any particular decade? Perhaps copied from a specific decorative alphabet? It’s more elaborate than expected, especially compared to those E-for-effort Jolly Jokers. We expect pre-1930 tiles to be less standardized in appearance, but there have also been artisanal sets after the period, made for personal use and cruder in appearance.

Cat just walked across the keyboard, so I might have favorited/boosted/blocked a bunch of people in the span of three seconds... more reasons for keyboard shortcuts to include at least one modifier key!

I love the type throughout this early 20th c. French booklet, but the italic in particular is really nice 😍 Catalogue de 123 palettes d’artistes (1911) https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k1248563g/f9.item.texteImage

Ooh, Sue Walker is publishing a book on Marie Neurath’s books for children, coming early next year with Bloomsbury. Looks like it’s going to be an instant classic! https://www.bloomsbury.com/uk/marie-neuraths-isotype-books-for-children-9781350375062/ Website complementing the 2019 exhibition: https://www.marieneurath.org/

Is there a synth patch/VST named that, or is it just a coincidence that Rone’s La Marbrerie and The Knife’s Marble House use a similar hihatish pattern?

The baseline Adobe admin experience is abysmal. Now some genius has greenlighted sending *daily* emails into perpetuity about merging accounts under the same domain? (a feature which, might I add, is currently broken). #ScreamingIntoTheVoidAsAService

Doing a little infrastructure refresh for llll.ro got me wondering: are there vocabularies, or other markup conventions, for marking up digitized books as to convey #semantics not covered by HTML? (As CSS hooks for now, but possibly doing more interesting things later). Recently bumped into #EPUB Structural Semantics Vocab, but curious if there are any other initiatives in this space (describing book parts) https://www.w3.org/TR/epub-ssv-11/

Stumbled upon an interesting* bug(?) in Firefox macOS for this website — I happen to have the variable [wght, opsz] version of Newsreader installed. One weight it renders from my local font (with auto-opsz), the other from the remote font (fixed at 16px opsz). But why tho* https://www.currentreader.app/ (* ”not gonna get nerd-sniped” challenge, level: difficult 😰)
