A neighborhood in Phoenix did some guerilla permaculture by cutting curbs and capturing rainwater instead of letting the water flow into a sewer. Now the streets are thiving with local plant life. Very solarpunk. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQ-jdUGCxcc

A div is not a button. Yes, I agree. In fact, what my team has learned is that even if you go thru allllll the effort to make a custom-element (a spicy div) exactly like a button thereβs still out-of-the-box browser behaviors that are impossible to replicate and they also keep evolving (popover/invokers). This API fixes that gap, updates with the browser, and should fix some of referencetarget-like issues (eg proxy attributes). https://mas.to/@patrickbrosset/116556512460138797

It's fun to have friends that make fonts because when my wife is using the Cricut for a little project and needs some font inspo, I look like a goddam hero. π± Rolled out a tiny update to my "Link" post template. I used to do `h1 > a[href]` (like Tumblr or DaringFireball) but now I'm copying @ashur's novel treatment of making blog post replies look like social media replies. I like it a lot. Feels very natural. The placement may change, maybe it makes more sense below the title and in the post body (for RSS). But it's been years since I've done a proper link post, and now this makes me want t...

Random Thoughts: - I think the case could be made that billionaires and venture capital are inflationary and need to be regulated. - I think the incentives are off for AI. If AI companies charge per-token, the AI company has every incentive to use as many input/output tokens as possible (or that their infra can support). - If AI makes you 10x more productive, then that's 10wks worth of work per week. On a team of 10ppl, that's 100wks (2 man-yrs) of work per week. No org is setup...

Appreciate @nolan's take on LLMs. Not too hot, not too cold. A well-balanced mama bear porridge take, if you will. I'm probably on a similar path in this journey, but Nolan is way more patient than me when you have to sit there and watch these things barf all over themselves. https://nolanlawson.com/2025/12/22/how-i-use-ai-agents-to-write-code/
