Finn Longman&#39;s A Wolf and His King was utterly exquisite. It&#39;s a re-telling of Marie de France&#39;s Medieval lay about werewolf and knight Bisclavret. its romantic (but not romance!), full of yearning and longing, loneliness and loyalty, suffering and isolation, a desire to belong, and struggles with identity. If you loved The Everlasting (Alix E Harrow), please do yourself a favor and read this! it&#39;s similar but different. I loved both so much. #books #bookstodon...

I&#39;ve just read 2 #books with gentle, compassionate main characters, which was so wonderfully refreshing! Weavingshaw by Heba Al-Wasity is a #gothic #fantasy about an immigrant who sees ghosts. To save her brother, she agrees to use her power for the Saint of Silence, mysterious keeper of the city&#39;s secrets. The Faithful Dark by Cate Baumer is a gothic fantasy about a soul-less mercy worker who longs to be accepted by her Church but is tasked with murdering a heretic. #reading...
