  As much as I love Superman, Supergirl is better. She wasn't raised on a farm by two loving parents. She lost everything and everyone she knew. She's just as powerful, but doesn't get the fame or the glory. She's still good and kind, and wants to help others, despite.. or maybe even because of what she's seen and gone through. That's a real hero.

  I just found out there's a new Masters of the Universe movie. It might be dorky, but I always kind of like He-Man. He rocks pink, and lives with a giant scaredy-cat in the castle when he's not out out swordfighting a skeleton in their loincloths. So, I got kind of excited to see the trailer, and... Sigh.. Let's just say I'm glad @skeletor isn't played by Jared Leto.

  I grew up with that stupid D.A.R.E. program on school. You know, the one that showed kids how to do drugs. Let me tell you, I have never once been offered free drugs. LLMs and AI, though..   Can anyone recommend a site to upload and host stock video for Creative Commons? I know that I can get stock video on Pexels and Pixabay, etc. I'm sure there's a way to setup a content creator account on those kinds of sites, but they probably have very high standards for quality. I would like to share creative, interesting, artistic videos, and I can't seem to find a platform.

  Are there any #owncast channels that stream independent #filmfestival shorts and #movies? Not like public domain films, but things you'd find at a film festival. I miss experimental films made by people (not major studios) so much. If there isn't one, would anyone have the knowledge and capability to run one? I bet I could garner a good amount of interest from other filmmakers. I'm sure they would love an audience.

  There used to be journalists who grabbed 8mm cameras and cheap field mics and tape recorders, whatever they could afford to go out and capture stories. They called it independent journalism. That's what I want to see online - real people informing you of what's really going on. I don't want to be spammed by newsletters, or give ad revenue to data harvesters infiltrating my browser. I don't want to give money I don't have to faceless laptop workers regurgi...

  You might not be seeing this stuff online, but every time I go for a drive in my rural area in the U.S., there are crowds of protestors. I'm talking about small town farming communities, and they're getting a whole lot of support from the traffic passing by. Nobody likes what's happening here. At this point, I don't even think the most die hard followers like any of this.

  What I love about Mastadon and the #fediverse - I reported misinformation and propaganda, and it was reviewed and handled immediately. Other platforms would have taken days with an eventual "we found no violation" message. Thank you to the real people moderating this service and making it a good place!
