#today will unfold however it must. A good week of determination and accomplishment. Weekend brain is very welcome, aided by an empty $dayjob agenda. Another sunny day, would go out for another run if I hadn't done so yesterday. Tomorrow if the weather holds. Looking forward to a day of coding and flow before starting my weekend. I'll get out into the sun and read as much as my day allows. I have a few hundred more words for the fiction I'm currently working on, may wrap that up...

I have seen Hawk the Slayer, tonight's #Monsterdon, many times. I even re-watched once recently, first time since I was a kid. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/25628 I was surprised at how well it held up. I doubt I will stay up for much of it tonight, it is a late start local time. Tickled that it was selected.

Joining #KungFuSat a little late. From what I've seen so far of Shaolin Intruders, seems like the usual Shaw Brothers fare, i.e. random but fun. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/60568

I love Saturday morning cartoons. Even in the afternoon. #KungFuSat

We're here for #KungFuSat and looking forward to some Shaw Brothers style fun with Swift Sword. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/66752

I am intrigued from the start with The Chinese Mack, today's #KungFuSat, starting with the introductory voiceover. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/479158 Is this going to be a kung fu life instructional film?

Yet another #Monsterdon I've never heard of, Zarkorr! The Invader. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/106070 Unlikely to stay up for all of this one but I am curious enough to check out at least a little.

I am here for #KungFuSat and enjoying Have Sword, Will Travel so far. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/90022 Not posting much, working on some LEGO to relax after a rough week.

Never even heard of In the Year 2889, tonight's #Monsterdon. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/74837-in-the-year-2889 In theory, this could be fun. Sixties sci-fi, directed by a self proclaimed shlockmeister. In practice, I am already confused. Seems like we just kind of jumped in mid-story with these people.

So far Heaven and Hell is my favorite kind of #KungFuSat complete with minimal and/or nonsensical plot, outlandish costuming, ridiculous dialogue, and great, old school set pieces. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/95990

I'm not sure if I've seen tonight's #Monsterdon, Class of 1999. Certainly seen similar, schlocky movies in the vein and vaguely high school themed. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/23535 If I have seen this one, I am sure it would have been with appropriate comedic soundtrack or additional commentary.

Joining #Monsterdon a bit late. Never even heard of Seedpeople. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/92779 Seems about par for the course for schlocky early nineties scifi/horror.

I definitely haven't seen today's #KungFuSat, The Kid with the Golden Arm. Title sounds like an 80s Disney movie but so far, appears to be all Shaw Brothers goodness. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/13513 Just enough plot to connect the set pieces. And all the Venoms apparently.

I won't say The Sword and the Sorcerer is a favorite movie or even objectively good. I have a soft spot because I first watched it when at the peak of my enjoyment of fantasy in general as a teen. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/13945-the-sword-and-the-sorcerer It has been long enough since my last re-watch of tonight's #MondayActionMovie that I've forgotten some of the more ridiculous details of the first act. I better remember the ridiculous details from the jump to...

Another slower morning #today but only a little. I spent a good deal of yesterday resting and recovering but still had a little sleep disruption. Back to weekly chores, to reset and prepare for the coming week. Looking forward to further Starforged adventures with @grueproof this afternoon. Tonight our son stops by to share a delivery feast from our favorite family Ethiopian restaurant for @kamikat's Mother's Day.

Another slower morning, more so since #today is Friday. The sun is bright. Even though it is cold, I'll head out for a run after breakfast and tea. Glad to get another one in this week. I have a single meeting and otherwise the work day to myself. After dealing with team stuff yesterday and Wednesday, glad to focus almost entirely on code. My new service is coming together nicely, I hope to finish this first coding task and start on the next. Looking forward to starting my weekend.

Up early #today and skipping breakfast for my six month follow up with my doc. Hoping for no surprises. After my appointment, I have the day to myself. A good day to find some more flow. I almost have the first slice of my new service working. Hoping to put what I have through its paces today so I can start building the core decision logic. Also looking forward to a weekend to myself, mostly for some writing and much relaxing.

Enjoying another gradual morning #today in part because the weather has turned colder and gray. No additional yard work this morning. Instead spending time in my journal, reflecting on the past week. The rest of today will be the usual chores to prepare for a new week. Looking forward to some Starforged this afternoon with @grueproof. Eager to share the ideas from yesterday's brain storm.

I had an idea for another way to weaken my doom scrolling habit. Been working on that in a few ways already and was feeling stalled. I am going to try to adapt a gratitude practice I learned about this week, of giving a little first before receiving. For my socials, I am going to try to think about things I want to share and post first *before* I then catch up on a feed. I am here for conversation so this also improves the odds of that happening.

I've reached the quiet part of my week and hoping to spend #today on focused work. I have research and prototyping to do to firm up a few choices for my next bit of coding work. I'm pretty much caught up on planning but may work ahead a little, time and attention allowing. The sun and weather are agreeable so going to try for a quick breakfast so I can get a run in before starting my work day.

I am glad to reach the end of my work week #today. Weekend brain is already strong. One last quiet focus day. Before I continue my prototyping, I need to do some test automation work to support a team mate's latest PR. Should go quickly. I have a couple of afternoon errands. Our game night tomorrow has shrunk, may end up being having only one old friend over or skipping altogether in favor of next time. Forgot how much aligning schedules is like herding cats.

Another sunny morning #today and feeling slightly less inertia than the last few days. Hoping to get in another workout before the rest of my day unfolds. I do better when feeling stuck when I get more movement into my day. Weekly 1:1's this afternoon for $dayjob otherwise eager to start my next coding project.

Moving slowly again #today and contemplating More. Tea. Still buzzing a bit from the fun we had hanging with our friends last night. No Starforged this afternoon which is just as well. I'm glad to have the extra time to tackle weekly chores.

Up before the sun #today hoping to beat the rain but still missed my chance for a run. Rain also means no morning walk for the dogs and no window to use my ropes without freaking out Roxy. $dayjob agenda is light and I am well prepared. Personal tasks have backed up a little, need to make a fresh batch of falafel and head out for a deferred grocery run after lunch.

I expected tonight's #MondayActionMovie to be weird but Starship Invasions is another level of gonzo. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/42542 With Saruman and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. too!

Up and moving #today before doubt or unease could stop me. The weather was better than forecast so finally got the run in I have been wanting. The sun was both bright and warm. Everything along the creek is exploding with green and blooms. About half a day of meetings ahead and some planning work to finish before tomorrow's team meeting. @kamikat is visiting her dad today so also want to take care of some household chores before she returns. A full day and yet it's only starti...

I am often a victim of my own success at $dayjob. I have rebuilt and expand our auth capabilities considerably in the past two years. A lot of my interrupt work arises because of this work, people asking for help using what I've built or requesting new features. I actually want this because the mess I've been cleaning was created by my predecessors not being responsive to the needs of other developers. I've leaned into standards which has decreased over time the effort...

Another experience that made me feel good, just now, was my latest collaborative design session with one of the other devs on my team. They have a growth goal of doing more design. I have one of creating more opportunities to delegate work, as the most senior member of my team. By collaborating on this next design question, rather than me solving it alone, they get practice and I am more completely sharing my knowledge so they can build it as easily as I could.

I am pleased to see the sun bright again #today. After breakfast and tea, I look forward to some more work in the yard, a bit more weeding and some work to repair the dead spots our collie boy Gibson has peed into the grass. I won't be posting much for today's watch party. I need to make yet another batch of falafel for this week's lunches. Stretch goal: get started on our taxes.
