  After 12 years in this house, sleeping in an ugly brown bedroom, we got our walls painted a couple of weeks ago! I'm loving this green and taking the opportunity to redo the whole bedroom. That means pink curtains and the newest addition: a garland of paper stars made from book pages! It rustles gently when the air conditioner comes on so I wasn't sure I'd like it above the bed, but I slept fine last night, so it can stay! #homedecor

  #3goodthings 1) my psychiatrist told me she's proud of me. I've been seeing her for roughly 13 years. We talked for 10 minutes longer than usual about my progress over the years, including the more recent autism revelation and how that's changed things. It was a great conversation! 2) my daughter is having her first sleepover tonight, and we're hosting it! Two other kids are here and so far everyone is having fun. It's cute stuff. 3) I get to eat pizza! YUM.

  Cats are biologically just very sleepy guys, but humans have an innate desire to wake them up and hassle them (because of cuteness). It's no wonder they have a bit of a reputation for being sassy!   For #ThrowbackThursday here's a batch of foster kittens from several years back! We called them the Beanie Babies and their names were Lentil, Chickpea, Butterbean, and Jellybean. They were the only bottle babies we ever fostered and I loved them SO much! #CatsOfMastodon

  Phone calls are so difficult for me. Even simple ones!! I need to call my allergist and reschedule my next monthly shot. It should be incredibly straightforward. And yet...   Last night I thought about doing a dramatic forward roll off the couch while talking to my husband, just to make him laugh. Then I thought better of it because my back was really messed up last week and I don't want to hurt it again. This means I'm getting older and more fragile, but on the other hand I'm also getting WISER and making fewer mistakes with my body. It felt like a real milestone in aging.
