  @SocraticEthics Small correction to the article, it says NATO has been on Russias border since 1999, but that's wrong, NATO has been on Russias border since it was founded in 1949, which is the border with Norway.

  @IvanGubkin There are some pretty good reasons for this, at least among the average European. It was a shock that someone like Viktor Yanukovych could be elected. Me and many others may have misunderstood what it meant, but it looked like a huge step away from Europe towards Russia. He ran away, he was a liar and deceiver, but a lot of damage was already done.

  @Deglassco It's so dumb how people adore Trump for being rich, but fact is that he would have been much richer if he had done nothing, and just let what he inherited from his dad do all the work. And Elon, and Tate, for some reason certain people adore these rich egocentric guys, as if they suck up to them enough, they'll get some financial benefits for it later.

  @garius The grass is greener on the other side is what happened. We see this so many places, Many people in Iraq think it was better while Saddam was dictator, ruZZians who think Stalin is a hero and that everything was better during the Soviet era. I hear even some Dutch talk about how great Holland was during the "Golden Age", and that if they just leave EU, it will all come back. Nevermind the "Golden Age" was based on Slave trade among other horrible thin...

  @CheckingInOcassionally@mastodon.ie @StillIRise1963 So the owner of the plantation abused the women workers, and in some sense didn't care what happened to their offspring? It's difficult to imagine such a situation for myself, it's so far away from anything I've experienced. Goes to show how great things are today in comparison.
