@CheckingInOcassionally@mastodon.ie @StillIRise1963 So the owner of the plantation abused the women workers, and in some sense didn't care what happened to their offspring?
It's difficult to imagine such a situation for myself, it's so far away from anything I've experienced.
Goes to show how great things are today in comparison.
