  Part of the problem with the incentives about how to write in essays and stuff I guess is that if you explain anything, it seems you're perceived as mincing words, as not taking a hard enough stance.   I still think there's some places where code quality goes up because putting in the effort to improve code so that AI can iterate on it faster is perversely easier to sell to higher ups than putting in the exact same effort to improve it so human authors can iterate faster
