@grimalkina@mastodon.social my copy is digital, so maybe not as colorful as other folks, but I like the form factor (though I’ll eventually need to do something about the DRM)

Can you explain this gap on your resume? I sure can! So these blocks are custom commands that end with \par\addvspace{0.5em}, that means you’ve got whatever \topsep and \parskip are plus half the width of a lowercase m, then the \topsep again going to the next block. Now, you’re probably thinking that I should give the layout engine some room to play…

Har-har-har, LockTite, the Blue comes in a red tube and the Red comes in a blue tube. That’s not at all confusing or problematic in anyway.

Ugh, hot water heater needs a part replaced and the service techs told us not to use it. It’s spring in a temperate region; hot water is non-optional. Adding insult to injury, this warning only comes after I opened unit to figure out whether there was a leak inside out the tech you did the flush a week back merely failed to seat the condensate sediment drain properly (which leaked on the junction box the unit gets power from, alerting me to the problem with nice, cold groundwater temp “hot” wate...

“The fediverse is exclusionary and insular…” Yeah, we’ve got some inclusion issues. Black people writ large kinda bounced off because of technical and social moderation issues… “… which is why we should be more open to AI enthusiasts!” What. The. Fuck. No. (This is not an actual quote, but an invention of a type of post going around.)

I guess we’ll start here with a statement of values. Abortion should be not just legal, but free. Trans rights are human rights. Gay rights are human rights. Black Lives Matter.

RE: https://sauropods.win/@futurebird/116142376731755195 I’m a coward or this would push me to wear nail polish just to be ornery about the imposition of restrictive gender presentation standards (that don’t impact me personally because I present my cis-maleness in ways they find totally acceptable).

Me: why won’t these cool people on Bluesky bridge to Fed? Also me: there’s no fucking way I’m bridging to Bluesky.

@jmax@mastodon.social @cstross@wandering.shop you go door-to-door. “Hello, *checks paper, clicks tongue and trills*, as you know, it’s March and the dread-lord demands skulls. We’re going around the stellar neighborhood, asking if you have skulls and whether we can take them off your hands. Naturally, we’ll deflesh them, even extract them from living beings if you’re squeamish about that sort of thing…”
