  I went to check up on PowerDNS Admin, a tool I use for managing my DNS. I knew they were working on a rewrite. It's now called DNSMin. It went from a single container giving me a UI and data stored in SQLite to 6 containers that need to be built when you deploy them with Docker compose. They want to target big DNS deployments, and that's not what I need.   I'm in the GM part of the Cortex Prime. The author leans in *real* hard into the cinematic metaphor. Every session is broken down into scenes and then beats. Cinema terminology is everywhere. The suggestions for when to end scenes feels kind of awkward. One suggestion if characters are at a stalemate is to end the scene and start a new one with the same conflict. And that just, doesn't make sense. They even have weird shit like "very special episodes" and sessi...

  Maybe the fediverse has the answer. I have Python scripts on a Linux server that I am running as a service account. They need packages from PyPI for the script to work, and the account does not have a home directory. How should I handle the virtual environment for that? #AskFedi #python #linux
