  A long tube runs from my wrist, secured by gauze and medical-grade adhesive. In my lap: a PVC bag connected to the other end of the tube. I gingerly pour https://www.wheresyoured.at/the-ai-industry-is-lying-to-you/ into the bag, then write "anti-gaslighting medication" on the front in Sharpie. I hang the bag on the tall silver pole next to me and open the drip. Relief.

  If you want to know where we're headed re: the consequences of AI companies running out of unlimited VC money, look at the fervent complaints of users after Claude introduced a bug that caused users to burn through tokens faster than before. That's going to reoccur in the future, but it'll be on purpose - a business decision. Tokens limits will be lowered, prices will be raised, and people who became dependent on these systems will find themselves stuck and desperate.
