If you want to know where we're headed re: the consequences of AI companies running out of unlimited VC money, look at the fervent complaints of users after Claude introduced a bug that caused users to burn through tokens faster than before. That's going to reoccur in the future, but it'll be on purpose - a business decision. Tokens limits will be lowered, prices will be raised, and people who became dependent on these systems will find themselves stuck and desperate.
