    @billgoats@bitbang.social I set up my 90-year old mom’s computer with Debian a few months ago. It was almost seamless with two exceptions… 1) her Win-printer wouldn’t work, of course. That’s fine it was almost at recycling stage anyway, and she doesn’t need it 2) setting up a Remote Desktop to help her from home was a *nightmare*. VNC, RDP don’t seem to work right anymore.     @musicmatze@social.linux.pizza For many types of projects, it&#39;s great. Extremely dynamic (which definitely adds overhead). For business apps it&#39;s super powerful. And nowadays, it&#39;s cross-platform. I wouldn&#39;t write an OS, timer-critical code or a game in it (though games are written in it, probably unmanaged code though?). Every language has its place.
