@billgoats@bitbang.social I set up my 90-year old mom’s computer with Debian a few months ago. It was almost seamless with two exceptions…
1) her Win-printer wouldn’t work, of course. That’s fine it was almost at recycling stage anyway, and she doesn’t need it
2) setting up a Remote Desktop to help her from home was a *nightmare*. VNC, RDP don’t seem to work right anymore. Sunshine was the best choice and I think it took 4-5 hours for me to figure out how to get mouse input working.
Most of it was great, and quite end-user ready.
