  Just got a "spare" used thinkpad, a t470 for a change (I'm really a 15.6 guy but i threw caution to the winds) I use 2.5" ssds to swap in/out when I get a "new" puter, but i didn't think to check with the supplier & this one has a NVME. I *think* you can swap in a 2.5 but I'm not 100% sure. Booted a usb & there's some annoying little niggles (ctl-q won't work? Wtf?). that trackpad faux click...

  Television is once again shit, and i have somehow found myself watching the netball, a game as dull and incomprehensible as basketball, only very slightly offset by the fact that the competitors wear cute little dresses. Is there any other sport where the teams wear dresses? (Before anyone say "Cheerleading", that is not a sport, it is a summoning ritual.)

  Australia Post have contrived to get a parcel from Tasmania into my hands in exactly 8 days, door-to-door, which strikes me as pretty good when the main route from Oz->UK is (I think) via an active war zone. Also the box is *full* of small yellow envelopes with electronical components, pcbs and whatnot in. heh.

  There's a bloke nearby who has a gigantic suv wankermobile, and he plops a cone down in the road in front of his house (because of course he does), right at the centre point of his frontage. (It goes without saying its a public street with no dedicated parking, anyone who wants to can park there). My car, however, is a sensible size, and so fits nicely one side of his silly little cone. I expect to find A Note Under My Windscreen Wiper next time I actually go to use the car.
