@neil fun story: when I was 15 I registered askjeves.co.uk, copied the site and made it respond with “Piss off, I’m busy” to any question. They threatened to sue my parents, I was obviously terrified so immediately transferred the domain. Their lawyers later confessed it was the funniest thing they’d seen. I was not popular with my parents for a while.

Controversial take but the Iranian Lego videos just aren’t any good. They are incoherent, they don’t make consistent points and half the time they don’t have any basis in reality. It’s difficult to take them seriously as actual propaganda.

Finally had cause to do that thing where you access a device over IPv6 when its v4 stack has died in a fire. Even did the whole %eno1 thing. Now I feel like a proper grown-up.

My god LinkedIn is awful. A well-meaning colleague tagged me yesterday with some praise, and now every grifter, chancer, recruiter and vendor wants to connect. Like what do you actually expect me to think is the value in letting you into my “network”?

Have temp muted the systemd tag to get rid of all the noise from the usual haters jumping on another excuse to hate it. Now I miss @pid_eins’s daily release note threads because the first post is necessarily tagged systemd. Can’t win.

We’re in the market to upgrade our remaining non-EV car to an #EV. We’d like 200-300 miles range, large hatchback or small SUV is about the right size. Would probably look at 2-3 years old. Any recommendations or models to avoid? Currently on a Merc A Class and the EV is a Mini Cooper.

Cooking chicken for the first time for a long time (we’re mostly pescatarian but not strict about it) and I was shocked to discover two breasts are now £8.30. Madness.
