Meanwhile, a gold mine, which involves mining and crushing hard rocks, has managed to run on 93.8% renewables for a solid month, they are aiming to scale up to 100%. #solarpower #renewables

We import the bulk of it and the price is horrendously volatile. Electrifying everything and building more wind, solar and storage will reduce our need to burn expensive foreign gas whose price is dictated by things completely outside of our control.

@taylorlorenz@mastodon.social There is also the problem of retaining people. @davidallengreen@mastodon.green, a UK lawyer with solid takes on pretty much everything, just went on an extended fedi break because the purity police didn’t like him using substack and he got bored of the hassling. Lovely own goal reply guys, the only behaviour you changed was his posting on the fedi. This is a people issue not a tech issue, which I’m not quite sure how to get around. He’s not the only one either.
