  This morning I finally got around to listening to a new live album by one of my favorite artists, and on it they explain the story behind my favorite song (so much I have a tattoo inspired by it). Not me crying like a baby on the way to the detention center because the song means even more now.

  Also proud that youth I’ve worked with and mentored for years are starting to turn up in the movement. Saw one such youth yesterday at the Balikatan protest. As a youth worker, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the next generation stepping into the struggle.

  I am so very tired of my country sending bombs to kill poor, innocent, oppressed people. Today I am sitting with Dr King’s words: “The bombs in Vietnam explode at home; they destroy the hopes and possibilities for a decent America.” A bomb dropped in the Philippines just exploded in Tacoma.
