  No #Hiking but #Cycling today. Went to Stechelberg in the back of the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Except for the usual tourism busyness in Lauterbrunnen itself, the rest of the way was nice and quiet. Kaffi / Kuchen on the restaurant terrace, before heading back. It was a good day on the bike. Perfect valley of course for #WaterfallWednesday as well. #BikeToot #Lauterbrunnen

  Clive, my friend, retired colleague and overall ultra-nice guy is walking from his current residence near Zurich to Plymouth where he was born. During this 1400+ km trip he is raising money for the Memory Matters Foundation.   ⚠️ limiting mastodon.cloud ⚠️ I've limited mastodon.cloud on mountains.social and mountains.photos and will suspend it somewhere in the future. It is an abandoned instance with unmoderated sign-ups, no active moderation afterwards and the used Mastodon software is out of maintenance for quite a while. It has been used for spam waves in the past, causing issues across the Fediverse. Other instances like fosstodon.org and floss.social already suspended it. More likely to follow. In case y...

  Back from a training ride into the Kander Valley. Wanted to round the Blausee, but the road at the mountain side is closed until this Friday (regular winter closure because of rockfall risk), so had to cut it short a bit. Temps are going down.   ℹ️ mountainance ℹ️ Just finished a pg_repack on the Mastodon database on mountains.social (sort of a defrag that you might know from the old Windows days for your harddisk, but without the cool mesmerizing little squares). The DB went from 120 GB to roughly 100 GB. For the pg_repack I had to increase the volume where the database is located on, as this process takes lots of temporary space (max double the size of the largest table in the database).   Just found @digikam as photo management tool on (not just) Linux. Finally an easy to use tool to adjust the exif data on my library. Now I can get rid of all those wrong dates which defaulted to 2002 on my old camera when I forgot again to set the correct date after changing batteries. #itstuff #digikam
