In London City Travelodge. I have a room facing away from the airport, so that's good. But; it faces onto the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). This would be fine if it were not for the facts that a) London is quite warm at the moment and b) the room does not have air conditioning. Sitting with the window open and a portable fan on, listening to the trains go by on the elevated trackway. I feel like I'm in The Blues Brothers. #London #Docklands #dlr

New (to me) 5G router from CeX. Took some tape on the back of the SIM and then a bit of paper wedged in behind it to get it recognized, but I now have internet at home again. 🥳

Dr Jamie Scott will try to answer these questions in an accessible manner. https://www.glasgowlife.org.uk/event/1/public-lecture-dr-jamie-scott-gravitational-waves #Glasgow #GravitationalWaves #GlasgowLif...

That was a good day. Through to Edinburgh to pick up a copy of @cstross@wandering.shop latest 'The Regicide Report' from Transreal Fiction, pint in Greyfriars Bobby's Bar (full of tourists, to no-ones surprise) and a tour around the Edinburgh Hacklab. Now devoured said book. Makes a suitably semi-apocalyptic ending to the Laundry Files. And I need to go and read up on Operation BARMAID, which is a bit of Cold War insanity I hadn't heard of... #LaundryFiles #Edinburgh #Transreal...
