  @joeress I needed to understand a specific behavior of a feature. Product team wasn’t getting back to me. Pointed the llm at the large code base to tell me where this functionality was. I then read the code to understand. Asked it to summarize the behavior. Compared its result to my own understanding. In retrospect later confirmed with the engineers. Results bang on.   @jnsgruk quick question for you regarding your crafts-flake. I can see that it’s deprecated, but it looks like you did so because it’s apparently in nixpkgs. It looks like this is no longer the case. I had an old snap that I wanted to version bump, but I can’t get the proper command to extract my token to run it in a GitHub action. Although I have reached out to the advocacy team and snapcrafters to maybe transfer it over there since I haven’t been giving it much TLC over the last while.

  Zed editor has gotten really good. Supports helix modal editing (my term editor), the remote ssh editing just works on NixOs (vscode was a pain). I have matched my vscode (plugins, etc), ble to set the vscode shortcuts from a dropdown is icing on the cake. My era of vscode might be ending.

  Pretty deep in the iOS ecosystem for mobile/watch. (No Mac). My contract is up and I can buy out my iPhone 15 pro max for $470. Or a can look for a budget alternative that’s non iOS. But I don’t really want to downgrade. Suggestion? #android #ios Likely just stick with it as I’m tired of financing the phones via contracts and don’t want to spend 1k plus.

  Welp. I’m tired of fighting zoom and screen sharing in general on NixOs. Back to a “boring” Ubuntu variant with ansible. For me nix was about packages and declarative cfg. I still have it. But my stuff is working. 🤷‍♂️ I don’t have time to babysit a nix config. I’m sure I’ll be back at some point.

  #Cloud #storage drives me nuts. Photos on one … have to sub to the 2 TB plan because you’re just over the lower sub. Then you have that situation across multiple providers and now you’re paying for 2 TB on multiple providers for independent services. But only use something like 600gb. 😖

  I just broke my clavicle over the weekend. I need a solid recommendation for a voice to text tool on #Linux. I basically need to be able to dictate into any text field in any application. Currently running #nixos but can easily run a flatpak or app image. Mixed results with Handy so far. I’ll be testing the ones I find, but I’m interested in a recommendation at this point.
